Successful Spring Egg Hunt Many thanks to our volunteers, Eileen Foley and Jessie Kooner, for organizing a sweeter-than-ever Spring Egg Hunt. This well attended event even included an appearance by the Easter Bunny! Also, thank you to the Kadavy and Wittman families for the use of their lawns. Visit our Community website, vuecrest.net, to see photos.Keep Vuecrest Safe Speeding cars in a neighborhood without sidewalks is a recipe for disaster. The phrase - Twenty is Plenty - coined by our President Jonathan Kagle, reminds us all to slow down for safety.Keep Vuecrest BeautifulIt's that time again for putting energy toward yard maintenance. So... Clean up those overgrown beds! Tackle those pesky weeds! And begin your regular lawn care! When yards look their best, everyone in Vuecrest benefits. Thank you.Annual Backflow TestingThe City of Bellevue requires annual backflow testing for all sprinkler systems. A Vuecrest resident, Eric Temple, has found a group rate on backflow testing which is scheduled for our neighborhood Thursday, May 21st. If interested, please contact Eric at temple.eric@gmail.com. Group winterization of sprinkler systems may be considered or other services like pressure washing driveways, roof and gutter cleaning or window washing.Redevelopment Near VuecrestAs noted in last month's Vuecrest View, a five-story upscale apartment complex is being planned to replace the modest Sumiyoshi apartments on NE 10th and 100th Ave NE. About a dozen neighbors attended the April 1st meeting, where the traffic impact to Vuecrest was among residents' top concerns. If you were unable to make the meeting, and would like to share questions or concerns with the City of Bellevue, please contact Bradley Calvert at bcalvert@bellevuewa.gov. Further information will be shared with the Community as details are learned.Fortin Group Meeting The Fortin Group (owners of the QFC property and another parcel directly north of it) has updated their proposal that they shared with Vuecrest last summer, enhancing some of the open spaces and walkways. Per our request, they have also performed a shadow study. A meeting to review this information with the Vuecrest neighborhood will be held Thursday, April 30th at 6:30pm at the Fortin Group offices (10112 NE 10th St).Monthly Board MeetingsThe next Board meeting will be held by Raymon and Jessie Kooner (9332 Vineyard Crest) on Thursday, May 7th at 7pm. Vuecrest residents are always welcome to attend.
