2/9 - Madison, Hammonasset State Park -- 1 immature NORTHERN GOSHAWK
at 2:45 on the osprey platform that is visible from the main road as you enter the
park. It was being harassed by a Northern Harrier until the Goshawk flew directly
overhead into the campground. Also, the AMERICAN BITTERN landed in the marsh
next to the Nature Center pond at 4:15.
I heard from other birders that the crossbills were seen today in the West Beach
pines. They weren't around during my brief visit.
