Greetings all,
The intense rain storm with strong SE winds overnight Jan 9/10 had a few gung-ho storm-birders out at dawn at various locations Jan 10 looking for storm-blown seabirds. Here is a summary of what was seen:

Stonington - Dave Provencher (Stonington Point and Dodge-Paddock Preserves were underwater and inaccessible): 1 large alcid.

Avery Point, Groton - Nick Bonomo (joined later by David Mathieu): 2 Dovekies, 17 Razorbills, 1 Red-necked Grebe, 1 Black-legged Kittiwake, 42 Bonaparte's Gulls, 4 Northern Gannets.

Stratford Point, Stratford - Frank Mantlik: 17 Razorbills (all flying west except 2 flying east). Two Iceland Gulls at Lordship Seawall (wintering adult plus a 1st-cycle bird).

Sherwood Island, Westport - Tina Green: 4 Razorbills flying west. 11 more this morning 1/11.

Shippan Point, Stamford - Patrick Dugan: At least 17 Razorbills. 62 more Razorbills this morning (1/11), most flying west but a few landed.
