I've been in contact with the Steamboat RFC and they would like to have us. No entry fee for Old Boys' sides. Right now there are three Old Boys sides attending: The Gypsies (Gypsy Rugby), Boulder Old Boys, and Steamboat Old Boys (the Gramps). The CSOBs would round out the Old Boys bracket if there's enough interest to field a side. (As always, even if we're a few players short, the other teams will have extra guys to fill in). Looks like a good chance for three games. The Tournament is Saturday, July 8th. There is an after party and plenty going on in Steamboat over that weekend. Pro Rodeo Friday Night, Balloon Rodeo and Art in the Park all weekend, Steamboat also has more on-going Summer stuff these days - Alpine Slide, golf, fishing, etc. Also, the Yampa is running high - great rafting/tubing (Pete Vandercarr - Steamboat Rugby Old Boy - runs the tubing business in town). Unfortunately, because so much is going on that weekend, hotels/motels are raising rates a little. Best deals I've found so far is the Ptarmigan on the Mountain and the Bristol in town. If you are interested in going, I'd start searching for a place now. At any rate. Let me know ASAP if you'd like to join a side for the Cow Pie so we can see where we stand and let Steamboat know. Please add you preferred position with your reply. It would be great if we could confirm with Steamboat, at least tentatively, by next Monday, June 8th. That's it. Elizabeth (on Saturday vs Colo. Springs Ladies & the CSOBs play Colo. Springs Men on Sunday) The other match is at the Purple and Gold Match (Our big Kick off for our season). John is already working on the PICNIC menu. As you all know Cliff has retired and Jeff (after almost 8 years has also retired GOOD SHOW JEFF), so I'm at the reins now. The work is not hard and it is a good time to get to know team members. 3. 17th Rocky Mountain Rugby Challenge in Aurora on June 18th @ Aurora Sports Field (off Colfax) Time is 10:00 AM, Playing Coaches & Ft Collins. 4. Elizabeth Gaelic Festival - July 22 & 23rd in Elizabeth, Colorado. Saturday Crusaders vs Colo Springs Sunday CSOB vs Colo Springs Grizzles in honor of Randy Licht. 5. Vail weekend August 12th . We will play Vail and usually Boulder is there also so we can have a pick up match with Boulder. We have been playing Vail longer than any other Team we have played. This will be our 28th match. We always go out for Dinner at Bart & Yetie's after the days festivities. 6. ASPEN RUGGERFEST September,14, 15, 16, 17. CSOB's in the 55 division. Matches on Thursday & Sunday. Virginia & Florida usually are there and we have a very good bonding with both Teams We will also have our Awards Party for the season MVP's awards. As you can see we have a matches every month. Tim and I are working on getting other matches. I am working next years matches with at least one out of State match either with Vancouver Evergreens or Phoenix, possibly Kansas City Blues.
