Based on the recommendations of Charles Culotta as found on his website
www.charlesculotta.com (http://www.charlesculotta.com)  I  made up four
foot long loops for my lines. This makes  a BIG loop, one that is quite easy to
toss over a piling or  cleat even from a distance, it is also easy to
"walk" back up and off of  most pilings.
If make these be sure they don't twist as you splice them, if  they do the
loop will not stay open when you toss it.
Good luck.,
