[Ontbirds] West Perth Wetlands Report

The cells at West Perth Wetlands are all ice-free and full of water.  A morning visit today produced a good list of waterfowl:

Tundra Swan(1), Canada Goose (50), Wood Duck(1), American Widgeon(20), Mallard(10), Gadwall(5), Blue-winged(4) and Green-winged Teal(10), Northern Shoveler(20), Lesser Scaup(30), Ring-necked Duck(15), Redhead(5), Bufflehead(60),  Ruddy Duck(15)

As for shorebirds there were 4 Greater Yellowlegs and 10 Killdeer.

A single Tree Swallow patrolled the skies.

West Perth Wetlands are in Mitchell about 20 km west of Stratford.  From Ontario Street (Hwy 8) drive south on Wellington St. to Frank St. Go straight across beside the ball field and follow the gravel to the parking lot.
