We are excited to announce the program for the 2018 Adult Services Symposium: Power of Partnerships. This event is part of the California Library Association’s Spring Fling series. The symposium is FREE to attend and includes a simple boxed lunch.

Think business, technology, public-private partnerships, higher education, the media, and out-of-the-box entities. Community partnerships enable libraries to extend scarce resources, develop relevant and engaging programming, and engage hard-to-reach audiences. Last year, California Humanities’ Library Innovation Lab: Exploring New Ways of Engaging Immigrant Communities program, provided an opportunity for 10 library programmers to develop programs in partnership with immigrant communities. Michelle Gordon will give an overview of her work on this project, which resulted in a live Story Jam event at a downtown theater, a communal potluck and an art show, in partnership with local community organizations!
