Subject: Fwd: Reminder: Culturally Relevant Pedagogy Speaker Series with Attachment and Registration Links
Dear Colleagues,
A friendly reminder that our virtual speaker series on culturally relevant education begins this week! PLEASE SHARE WITH YOUR NETWORKS.
REGISTER HEREhttps://mit.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJIlfuitqzssHNw9njzlnkGUDKio3aoGx0wf#/registration for the first talk on Friday, September 15 @ 12-1PM EST with MIT Professor of Linguistics Michel DeGraff. Professor DeGraff will share how he leverages linguistic autobiographies to engage undergraduate students, many of whom are immigrants, in his course "Creole Languages and Caribbean Identities." This session will be moderated by Dr. Jaime Chavez, Morehouse College Department of World Languages and Cultures.
This work grows out of our recent collaboration with open education innovators at Tennessee State University and MERLOT. In this series, we bring together featured speakers from across Morehouse College and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to share experiences and examples of culturally relevant and sustaining teaching practices.
