  Clarifying a Confusing Message 


  By now you may have seen a bulletin from Mariners General Insurance Group entitled, "ATTENTION." That bulletin "describes" Novamar, as a "start up," and refers to the undersigned, Craig Chamberlain as a "former Mariners employee."



  The simple truth is:



  1. Novamar is not a new company. It was founded 26 years ago. Novamar is just a new name for the company. The new name was selected to avoid confusion with the Mariners name and organization.



  2. I am not a "former employee" of Mariners, but a former 50% owner of Mariners General Insurance Group (the California corporation), and a 100% owner of all Novamar corporations. My team and I consolidated all of our accounts with Novamar because we believe that Novamar's vision and capability is the best option to provide the type of sound and safe insurance planning and services that we have become accustomed to providing our clients for the past 30 years.



  3. Those who wrote the Mariners "Attention" bulletin are fully aware of who Novamar is, and that our team has been handling yacht insurance needs for decades.



  4. We are the same financially strong and highly ethical group who have been handling your marine and other insurance needs.  We tell it as is it.



  5. We are at Novamar because we believe Novamar develops, provides, and services insurance products at the highest level of proficiency available to yacht and marine property owners around the world. We carry out that mission every day with high energy and integrity.   



  6. The strength and stability that our customers have relied on for decades resides in our team of professionals at Novamar. Novamar's staff is the same staff that provided key support at Mariners.



  7. Both Mariners and Novamar have equal access to ALL Mariners clients. The cornerstone of our agreement is to allow clients to decide which company and staff are best qualified to serve their future insurance needs.



  8. Assigning your policy to Novamar for servicing will not change your insurance company, policy coverages, or premiums.



  9. While we value our history, Novamar is focused on the future as we continue to develop new and improved insurance programs to better serve our valued clients in the U.S. and around the world.
