Wanted to inform the group of some changes in motor vessels and acknowledging some businesses that made it happen. We sold our 2005 Legacy 42’ in July, 2020. Mark Connors from Bluewater Yachts, Virginia Beach office was the broker. We used Mark for the purchase of that vessel in 2016 and based on that experience, became a return customer. We took possession of a 2007 Jefferson Rivanna 45’ on November 3. Mark was also my broker for purchasing this vessel. As has been every experience with Mark, he is a true professional, attentive to customers, always positive, and truthful/trustworthy. I highly recommend Mark and Bluewater Yacht Sales for selling or purchasing motor and sailing vessels.

Our new vessel is located in St. Petersburg, Fl. We contracted a general marine surveyor and Southeastern Marine Power in St. Petersburg to perform a main engine, generator, and transmission survey inspection.  Southeastern Marine Power was outstanding and their survey/analysis was very detailed and precise. I hired them to perform an overall main engine, generator, and transmission service (fluids, filters, impellers, zincs, etc) and some more repair items based on the survey.  I highly recommend Southeastern Marine Power for marine engine service, especially Cummins for which they are authorized service providers.

I wish I could say I could recommend my general marine surveyor but I can not. His name was suggested by some members of this and other groups but he was far from thorough and missed a lot of pretty important items. I now have more to add to my list for items to require at a survey. I will not share his name publicly but if someone needs a survey in this area, contact me privately.

Right now we are still hunkered down at The Harborage Marina in St. Petersburg where the boat was listed waiting for hurricane or tropical storm ETA to decide where she will go next and when. I also highly recommend The Harborage Marina (except for the Wi-Fi). They have been very accommodating and supportive. Our plan was to leave on November 9 but now it looks like November 13. Ultimate destination for this season is Brunswick Landing Marina (December 1-March 31).
