Anthony Dillon is one step closer to writing his legacy at Dillard University after receiving a full academic scholarship, funded by Board of Trustee member Leith Hill, during St. Augustine’s College Decision Day.
The event took place on Monday during National College Decision Day, which is the deadline for high school seniors to accept offers of admission and place college deposits.
“It’s an honor and a pleasure to bring together two historic, powerhouse academic institutions and share education with the next generation,” said Trustee Hill and founder and CEO of Ellary’s Greens.
Dillon was awarded $75,000 to cover tuition costs for the academic year, which brings St. Augustine’s graduating class to a total of $27 million in scholarships, shattering last year’s record of $9 million.
According to St. Augustine’s communications director, Mel Cordier, one-hundred percent of their graduating class has been accepted and will be attending college this fall.
Dillon expressed that he’s interested in learning more about marketing and is looking forward to the freedom to pursue his endeavors. “I'm looking forward to working toward a degree that will lead to a job. And while I'm doing that, I can pursue my own business plans, hobbies, and things of that nature, all while enjoying myself and meeting new people,” said Dillon.
