Hello All,
What an interesting two days. Monday afternoon we anchored off of Mobjack
Bay in the East River. Sunday wasn't too bad on the Chesapeake but Monday
was a bit rougher but we wanted to get to the East River near Zimmerman
Marine. I had talked to Steve D'Antonio (of Zimmerman Marina & Passagemaker
magazine) at the Annapolis Boat Show. Steve had expressed an interest in
seeing Legrace so we stopped by for a visit. Lynn fixed lunch and we had a
very nice & interesting visit with Steve Tuesday afternoon - really fun
taking boats with him!
This morning we got an early start hoping the winds wouldn't be too bad
early in the day but still got rocked more than we like running down the
western shore to Norfolk. We enjoyed Norfolk & the Waterside Marina so much
last spring heading north that we plan to be here two nights - shopping,
sightseeing and taking in a movie or two.
Gary & Susan on "First Forty" (Nordhavn 40 - Marge's old boat) are here. We
met them in Solomons at TrawlerFest and have pickup where we left off a few
weeks ago. (Marge; Gary thanked me for putting you in touch with them).
So who all are heading south off the Chesapeake with us? Here are the ones
I know of:
Vince & Mary on "Betty B"
John, Jana & Elvis on "American Courage" (they are ahead of us)
Bob Kassal on "Chateau de Mer"
Jeff Siegel on "aCappella"
Greg & Susan on "Allegria" - are you on the Chesapeake? - I thought you were
further south
Who else is in the vicinity heading south??
Bob & Lynn Williamson

We'll be in Solomons early this afternoon. Then we'll start getting serious about heading down
the ICW. Enough of these enjoyable days in nice Chesapeake Bay towns having fun and going only
20-35 miles!
We'll be in an anchorage on the Virginia Chesapeake for Friday night (Mobjack or Poquosin?)
then through Norfolk and the bridges on Saturday. I'd like to go to the
Alligator River Marina because I've never been there but that is too far to
go on Saturday - we might make a shorter day of it and go there on Sunday.
Then Belhaven and finally New Bern.
We'd sure love to meet more T&T's as we head south!
