the three most dangerous days I have ever had while diving.>

I'm glad this worked out for you Phil, what an experience.

This was my biggest fear coming to Hawaii last month from Cabo San Lucas.
Fouling the prop.
To than end I built a new Hookah system so that we had an unlimited air
supply on board in case this happen to us. In a previous incident I had
spent 1 1/2 hours free diving to clear our prop but that was in 90 degree
calm water. I was not looking forward to having an experience like yours.

We also had fouled the prop back in 2006 in 8' seas and this is where the
anti-roll tank, ART, first showed its true worth to us. Swan Song, as I've
said before, just sits in the water beam to the seas like a duck. Up and
down but no rolling. In the incident it took but 20 minutes to clear the
line but there was little danger from the boat bashing you.

With the amount of trash in the seas almost any offshore passage today
requires a good plan to clear the running gear. This means in the water, up
close and personal with the crap. Alfa Romeo just finished the TransPac race
and they had to stop and back down several times to clear items off their
keel and rudder....a much easier task than when this stuff is wound tight on
the prop.

Again glad your outcome was positive and too bad we missed each other.

Tell Rick and Jean hi.
