SCC Member,
First, thank you to all of the members that showed up last night!
We had an open discussion about what members want from SCC.
It comes as no surprise that members would like to try to get group rides going again.
All that it takes is for SCC to have group rides is for individual members to commit to being group ride leaders. This means that you communicate about the ride each week, and you show up to the ride, or find an alternate each week to show up on your behalf.
The only way group rides have ever succeeded for SCC is with the consistency that a group ride leader provides.
Who is willing to commit to leading a weekly ride?
Please reply to me with your thoughts about schedule and format of the ride (road/mountain/gravel/townie, fast/slow, drop/no-drop, etc.), and I will own putting together the schedule.
Best Regards,
Eric Tauer

SCC Member,
We have had a few people step up and suggest rides that they are willing to lead.
It would be nice to have more options than are on the table currently.
Are there any more of you out there willing to lead a weekly ride?
Please think about it, and get back to me by the end of next week (FRI 16MAR). I will put together an initial schedule after that.

SCC folks,
We are trying to bring back some type of weekly group ride again. For now,
meeting at the F Street bridge at 5:30 on Wednesdays (starting tonight) for
gravel road rides. Not a road bike ride. Spirited ride on rougher dirt
roads and some pavement. Regrouping at certain spots. Rides may include
going to Turret, up towards Blanks Cabin, down towards Vallie Bridge, etc,
may include some light singletrack. We are feeling it out for day of the
week and time to see what works best for everyone, including the working
man/woman, knowing that it will not fit everyone's schedule. Hopefully
see some of you there. Get in touch with me (markpwalker@gmail.com) or
come by tonight with questions.

This is awesome, Mark!
Also, just a heads up that we will be starting a ladies’ weekly group road ride this summer. Connie and I will begin as group leaders, but we will be looking for others to lead occasionally as well. Details coming within the next week.
Here’s to a great summer on bikes!
