When away from the emergency medical services some take for granted in North America, one needs to have aboard certain drugs.? With a sat phone or SSB, medical advice can be obtained while offshore, but drugs and diagnostic tools cannot.? We had no Customs difficulties with our boat's drug supply in PI, HK, JP or CN.? JP had us lock away the morphine derivatives in a sealed locker while transiting that country, and re-inventoried at a subsequent?JP?port and before clearing the country (a minor inconvenience at worst).?
