Ontario birders,

The Long Point Bird Observatory sightings board is updated to May 18 http://www.birdscanada.org/longpoint/index.jsp?targetpg=lpbosight

Highlights for this period include: Cattle Egret, Piping Plover, Chuck-wills-widow, Eurasian Collared Dove, Fish Crow, Yellow-throated, Prairie and Prothonotary Warbler, Kirtland’s Warbler, Dickcissel, and Summer Tanager(s), and Yellow-headed Blackbird.

You can find all of the locations mentioned in the Long Point Birding Trailhttp://www.birdscanada.org/longpoint/index.jsp?targetpg=lpbt&lang=EN. To get to Long Point, follow the birds, or head south on Hwy 59 from the 401 until you hit the lake.

Visitors are always welcome at the Old Cut Research Station, and daily birding hikes depart Old Cut one hour after sunrise. Follow @LongPointBirdOb on Twitter or Facebook at facebook.com/LPBObshttp://facebook.com/LPBObs for daily updates on birding at Long Point.

Contact me off-list if you'd like to be a part of the LPBO Bird Alert Group (requires a mobile phone and WhatsApp).

If you enjoy these updates, please consider supporting the LPBO Cygnus Crusaders in the  Great Canadian Birdathon - https://www.canadahelps.org/s/2rUhN. This year some members of the Crusaders are tackling an Ontario Big Day! Follow along on LPBO’s social media #OnBigDay!

Good birding,

Stu
