In a day or two, we'll be leaving Hampton, VA, traversing Hampton Roads,
and go up the Elizabeth River through Norfolk and Portsmouth. Now,here's
where that, "If I only had a radio", comes in. I could announce our
movements and inform all those big gray ships to stay at least 500 yards
from our boat. I might just launch the dinghy as a fast attack patrol boat
to warn away any wayward vessels. Ummm, now there's a thought!

Rudy, check your mariner info. I don’t have it right at hand but I did read about a great Lock closures and one if the RR bridges closed. You may be traveling during those times.

If you want the Navy's attention, just head right at one of those big gray
ships. No need for a radio because they will ATTEND to you right smartly.
