Well, after leaving Galveston Bay in 30 knot winds on Friday morning and
getting the snot kicked out of us, we've had a great trip so far. We went to
Avery Island, La and toured the Tobasco factory on Sunday. A side trip well
worth making in my opinion. Tonight we're tied up at the great little downtown
dock in Homa, La. Great little dock with water and electric, for $20. The dock
master, Jessica, is a very nice lady and comes by to collect the money and
make sure every thing is hunky dory.
The plan is to stop at Seabrook marina in Naw'lins for the night tomorrow
night, then head east towards Florida. We've only seen one other pleasure boat
on the 300 miles or so of this trip so far, and that happened to be the boat
from the slip right behind me in my home dock! He's a fast boat (SeaRay,
insert your own joke here) and flew by us somewhere on his way to Destin. Hope
to see more of you guys as we get further east!
