The Barnacle Goose is present in the Tristan ponds in Schomberg now at 9:55am. Took off once in last 30 minutes but came back. But in the next 10 or 15 minutes hundreds arrived, and although the Barnacle was not seen arriving we were able to pick it out on the water while there was (barely) enough light. In fact, when it faced east it was quite hard to pick out, but when it faced into the still reasonably bright western sky it showed quite well. Turn east into the Trisan Centre parking lot. The pond can be clearly viewed from the viewing platform at the east end of the parking lot.
