Hi everyone,

Here’s a draft of the message I’m planning to send to members asking for help identifying sponsors. I’ll send it out tomorrow assuming it’s OK with everyone.

Jeff

NCL Members,

I am reaching out to you today with a request related to Adult Education and Family LIteracy Week (week of September 26th) and the 2016 Literacy Leadership Awards Event, which will be held that week, on the evening of September 28th, here in Washington, DC.

This year the board and I are working to secure new sponsorships for our AEFL week activities, particularly the Literacy Leadership Awards event. We are, of course, interested in any help NCL members can provide in identifying potential sponsors. It could be another group or company with which you already work, but that may have an interest in also sponsoring this event, in addition to the support they provide your organization. You might consider reaching out to the partnership/fundraising folks at your own organization (if you have one), to see if they have any ideas.

You or your organization could make the initial contact yourself, or if you prefer, you could simply pass the lead on to me. In either case, simply share that name and a point of contact with me, so that either myself or another member of our board can follow up.

We’ve already had one member come through with a sponsorship commitment — I’d love to be deluged with additional leads. :)

I’ve attached a one-pager that describes our event, and the different levels of sponsorship opportunities available. If you decide to make the ask yourself, please be sure to stay within the parameters listed in this document in terms of benefits. The Literacy Leadership Awards is a strictly non-commercial event, and thus our promotional opportunities are limited.

Thank you, in advance, for considering this request. If you have any questions or comments, please direct them to me or a member of the board individually. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Jeff
