We kept a daily log and posted it to the internet every evening so the kids and family could follow where we were. Met two loopers along the way and were really envious. Still our dream trip to do the loop someday. Yes but not all at once. ;-) If memory serves me right the closest point on the ICW is at Mobile Bay which is about 900 miles and 19 locks away from Tellico Lake. A total rise, or fall depending upon which way you're going, of about 800 feet.
