Hi All,
Linda and I just completed a quick (two week) trip from Lake Champlain
down to New York City and back. We kept a daily log and posted it to
the internet every evening so the kids and family could follow where we
were. Met two loopers along the way and were really envious. Still our
dream trip to do the loop someday.
Don't know if it is of interest but for those of you who might be
traveling up the Champlain Barge Canal from Troy to Whitehall into Lake
Champlain (or the reverse), here is a link to the log:

The annual Chicago to Mackinaw Race (largest fresh water sailboat race in
the
world) leaves Chicago this Saturday. Slips in Chicago will be non-existent
until Saturday morning, after that there will be an excess. Likewise slips
on
Mackinaw Island, in St. Ignace, and in Mackinaw City will be even worse
beginning on Sunday for about a week.

I have just come on the list and expect to start our great circle trip this
next April from Key West. My first question for the group is there a way
that
I can cost share a good set of charts and books from anyone who has just
completed the trip or will be completing it soon? I can pay or we can
barter
some nights at our B&B in New Hampshire. We are looking forward to the
whole
process of planning etc. Thanks for hearing me out. Jim Dunwell

Anyone have experience with Prima Yachts, specifically the 45' Sedan?

Yes but not all at once. ;-)
If memory serves me right the closest point on the ICW is at Mobile Bay
which is about 900 miles and 19 locks away from Tellico Lake. A total rise,
or fall depending upon which way you're going, of about 800 feet.
