Observers:
Visitors:
There were several first time visitors to the site today and a big thanks
to Tom B for doing today's count.
Weather:
Much colder today after the passage of a strong cold front with temps
starting at just 4C and getting to a high of 11C. Winds were moderate to
strong from the WSW and W for the day. A mix of sun and cloud today was
well.
Raptor Observations:
A pretty good flight for not the best wind direction today with a total of
955 tallied. the bulk of the count today was TVs (607).... along with Bald
Eagles (14), lots of Northern Harriers (29) almost half of which were adult
males, Sharpies (15) and Cooper's (3), Redtails (4) and the falcons with Am
Kestrels (280), Merlins (1) and Peregrines (2).
Non-raptor Observations:
None Reported.
Predictions:
The forecast for the next couple of days is moderate to gusty W winds which
typically holds back migrants in any big numbers. The winds are looking
more promising (for now) later this week.
