10/18 - Two female or immature Purple Finches at one of the seed feeders at Whitney Center in Hamden. First time I’ve seen them here (we moved in in January, 2019.)
Florence McBride, Hamden
Hi, I live in Guilford and have had a large group of birds here since
Saturday. Including, to my delight, white throats, juncos, female/juvenile
purple finches, siskins, and red breasted nuthatches. I can barely tear
myself away from the window....

I now have a male at the feeder. I guess they’re moving through today.
