Anyone look at the latest QEX? There's a pretty impressive 2.4mm
transverter. Oh course I'm always impressed by homebrew great about 5GHz

VK3CV started a fundrazr project https://fundrazr.com/122GHzProject to
have a batch of those boards built and 5 of us in Michigan are
participating.  We should have them in a couple weeks.  Looks like a fun
project, hopefully we can get a few miles DX out of them.  A fraction of a
milliwatt isn't much power!

Yep, saw that. Didn’t look too difficult to build if you have a lathe handy or are willing to try it with a drill press. I happen to know a couple of guys with metal-turning lathes who might be willing to make the fancy bits.

Yeah, but did you pay attention to the work that went into the duplexer and
2mm I.D. circular waveguide?
I know that’s beyond MY capabilities. The 10Ghz horn antenna I constructed
in HS taxed me to my limit (my brother could do that, he machined a number
of cool gadgets while attending our HS).

We've found something Joe can't handle? Didn't think I'd see that day!

Yes, a lot of us have purchased the kit from him and Tim VK2XAX. He says he
has received all the pc boards from the manufacturer and just received all
the conical and Chaparral-type feedhorns from another manufacturer. Orders
should be shipping soon.
