Observation end time: 15:30:00
Total observation time: 3.5 hours
Official Counter: Craig Evans
Observers:
Weather:
Heavy rain and some snow in the morning. At the start of the count, there
was still some light mixed precipitation, which soon ended. Strong
northwest winds up to 25 mph persisted. Snow flurries began again near the
end of the count. Temperatures were approximately 2 C and humidity 80%
Raptor Observations:
Despite the northwest winds, only 2 Red-tailed Hawks took their time
soaring in the winds, eventually crossing together to the north, which was
followed minutes later by a Northern Harrier. The weather system before and
the one after seemed to be impeding migration here today. 3 Bald Eagles
were around the marsh.
Non-raptor Observations:
There was not too much activity around the tower or in the marsh today.
Some Dark-eyed Junco, Black-capped Chickadee and Golden-crowed Kinglets
were observed.

Predictions:
Tomorrow morning should be a mix of sun and clouds at -2 C. The wind is
forecast from the west and will be moderate to strong, though not as strong
as yesterday. It is expected to cloud over in the afternoon with
temperatures reaching a high of 0 C.
