NCL Board Colleagues,

Here is the draft Literacy Leadership Awards solicitation and nomination form for your review. I'm late in getting this out to you (not to mention to the field!), so I'd appreciate your prompt attention to this.

A few notes:

• I've expanded the description of what we're looking for slightly from last year's version, for those who remember it.

• I've been in communication with the Powers That Be about a date and location for the event. We are aiming for early evening on Wednesday, October 4 (the evening after the CEF gala), but I'm not confident enough yet to put that date on the nomination form.

• In case you are checking, yes, I know that the info on the website needs to be updated. :-)

The only comment I have is about the last line:

The NCL Board of Directors will consider this statement in recommending a slate of awardees for approval.

By using the word “consider” it makes it sound as if it may or may not matter in the decision….
