seen on the main trail that borders Mondo Ponds, left side near
apartment units. First observed giving mouselike behavior in tangled
thicket. The bird jumped up and perched in view for a good, brief
binocular viewing.

01/21/14 - Norwalk, 14 Acre Pond -- before the storm hit; Northern
Shoveler and Blue-winged Teal present but difficult to see once the
snow started. They were on the northeast side.
Southport, Fairfield Country Club -- The Barnacle Goose was on the
green behind the clubhouse (with a large flock of Canada Geese).
Didn't see that cackling goose. Most of the geese were hunkered down
in the storm.

low island on the marsh side. Not the best looks but he was there.

SCAUP (1f).
Sterling yard -- RUSTY BLACKBIRD and a record number of Northern
Cardinals at the feeders this evening. Counting the most males (23)
and females (18) seen at one time for an amazing total of 41.

-- 2 SNOW GEESE present around 3 PM.

-- I drive past that field every workday at about 4:10 pm. I've been
seeing at least one snow Goose(sometimes two) there off an on since
early December. I don't always stop and glass the field over. I did
see Geese there today, but they were way back in the field and it was
snowing.
