Speaking of vulture roasts, read Bent's account on vultures,
especially the one about T.V.'s.

As to Greg's question on the most unusual visitor I've had to suet feeders.  Occasionally, generally in very snowy or cold weather, the Common Ravens come in and raid the suet feeders.  They always figure out how to open up the suet cage and make off with the goods.

Speaking of Common Ravens, I had to run out to Target in Meriden on Saturday during the snow storm and wish I had my camera with me, as one of the resident ravens was foraging around the parking lot and I was able to get within about 10' from him in my car.

Finally, I wasn't hearing things on Friday, as later in the day Donna Rose Smith had a COMMON REDPOLL on the feeder.  I had thought I had heard one earlier in the day.

PS  Black Vulture roast...count me out.  Reminds me of the conversation I once had with a 80+ year old man in Iceland who was waxing poetic about the good old days when he used to climb the bird cliffs to grab the annual Northern Fulmar for Easter Dinner...yuck.  I bet that tasted like a fishy anvil.
