Cruising America's Great Loop and other inland routes
View all threadsYou may not need a mattress, but just a good foam rubber topper. We use the
dense foam queen size from Costco (about $160). It is easy to cut to shape
and is a lot cheaper than a new mattress.

Can anyone recommend a place to buy a good mattress for our boat? We are
not
sure but we think that maybe we should get one with coils or a spring
inside. We are looking for advice, please. If possible the Ft. Myers or
Naples area would be great since that is where we are.
Thanks!

We have a 4" serta topper of
memory foam (temperpedic). It is wonderfull, less than $200 free shipping on
amazon. Buy too large & cut to size.

They cut real nice with an electric knife. I ordered one from Overstock.com
and they ship for $2.00 any place in the USA. I also ordered a queen foam
mattress for my sister for $200. She loves it. So if your bed is regular size
you can get them from many places. If it is for a V berth or an unusual shape
you can get one that will fit and take it to a canvas shop and ask them if
they can cut it to fit and cover it for you.
