From Mark Danforth:
08/06/14 - Old Lyme -- 6:20 AM; juvenile White Ibis continues at Hawk
Nest Rd In marsh with egrets.
From Mike Resch with Denny Abbott:
08/06/14 - Old Lyme -- 3:30 PM; White Ibis being seen from Otter Rock
Rd in marsh with 1 Snowy Egret. Best viewing from 100 Yards south of
northern end of road. Though frequently out of view in channels on
this low/mid tide.
From John and Anders Ogren:
08/06/14 - Old Saybrook, Plum Bank Marsh -- strikingly marked
"Dalmatian" spotted immature Little Blue Heron with about 8 white
immature and 2 adult Little Blue Herons. Lots of Salt Marsh Sparrows.
Looked for White Ibis in Old Lyme at about 2 PM with no luck. I am
thinking that in that marsh a higher tide would probably be better.
From Hank Golet with Noble Proctor:
08/06/14 - Old Lyme,Hawk's Nest -- Immature WHITE IBIS. Things were
quiet until 7:20 PM when White Ibis and 5 egrets flew down from upper
marsh and out of sight over the trees to the east.
From Paul Desjardins:
08/06/14 - Windsor, Northwest Park -- about a half dozen Orchard
Orioles, unexpected Winter Wren.
From Don Morgan:
08/06/14 - Ashford, Yale Forest -- I had a Yellow-billed Cuckoo
calling today with his classic cuckoo call. Previously I have heard
the clicking call about 5 times. On 8/1/14 I had one land on a
branch about 40 feet from me. After it flew I heard the clicks that
day.
