I don't know of any near Grand Rapids, but Inver Grove Heights Animal
clinic near St. Paul is top notch and I've met people who bring their pets
for surgery from hundreds of miles away.  It would be worth it to drive
there for a consult.  I hate hearing the other options.

Subject: Surgery vet recommendations?
I have a somewhat urgent request from a Newf owner looking for
recommendations for a vet near the Grand Rapids, Mn area that can perform
surgery on a broken femur bone.
Their current vet can't do the surgery, suggested finding vet that could,
or amputate the leg, or have him put down.
Newf is 8.5 months old. They want to give him the best option.

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Missy

I used to use the Buffalo Vet (763) 682-2181 and they were good on knowing who could do what in outstate Minnesota, perhaps they could be consulted?  Dr Ron Moore was my main contact.

It is possible that the NCA could help cover some of the costs, depending on the situation.
