Barnacles Gadgets and Gimmicks

I came across something unusual.

A spray can of NeverSeize was left onboard my boat by a mechanic and became
a part of the following scenerio.

I have always had a problem with barnacles on the paddle wheel of my speed
transducer. I did not paint it because it seemed to throw it out of balance
and slow it down. An easy way to clean it is to submerge the fouled area in
swimming pool muriatic acid.

The last time I cleaned it I sprayed it with NeverSeize to make the wheel
spin more easily. Three months later I pulled it to check for barnacles and
did not even find the sign of any growth on any part of the transducer, my
running gear and bottom had plenty of small barnacles and some grass.

The lubricant did not wash off, next time I will try it on my props.

NeverSeize coats and holds on to plastic and metal with much more tenacity
than other lubricants and contains a lot of slippery graphite.

Lets find some one that can make this into a bottom paint to keep our boats
clean and the graphite in the lubricant may make our boats go faster.
