TAMARINDO - COLLAGE AND ACRYLIC - KATHLEEN KEMLY
USING COLLAGE AS A DYNAMIC ELEMENT
IN A PAINTING
KATHLEEN KEMLY is the featured demo artist for Peninsula Art League's
May 26 meeting at the Gig Harbor United Methodist Church, 7400 Pioneer Way.
Kathleen will demonstrate how to incorporate collage and drawing into your
acrylic painting.
"Collage helps me to find the big shapes in my painting. Finding the
structure allows me to stay
loose and painterly," she said.
From a distance, the collage elements may not be obvious; up close, however,
the intricate patterns and textures shimmer. Smaller pieces are placed
throughout - among the shadows, in the faces, around the border. Kathleen
said that her paintings sometimes take months to complete.
Be inspired by collage! Kathleen will show works IN PROGRESS and examples
of finished work.
