This is exactly the reason why we are building our passagemaker lite 48,
Tad Roberts Design. The production passagemaker with the lowest fuel
consumption in the world! 1.3 usg/hr. or about 4.9 liters per hour for a
speed of 6-6.5 knots. While a top speed of 11 knots can be reached. A
passagemakerlite built at our yard in South Africa is already available
for 2 500 000 Rands which is 324 379 us $ or 218 923 Euros at today's
rate. Fitted with two inboard diesel of 65 Hp, she is not only very fuel
efficient but also a beauty to look at. The more the fuel price rises the
more our passagemaker lite make sense.

A production wood passagemaker?  Bold to say the least!  A bulbous bow on a
48, again bold!

Great ideas, will be interesting to see how many buyers step up to a wood
boat.  Can you elaborate on your choice of materials?
