Dear colleagues and friends,
Hope you are doing well! Please join me in welcoming a new member to the
Song Yuan listserv, Davin Luce. Below please find his self introduction.
Welcome, Mr. Luce!

My name is Davin Luce and I am a first year Master’s student in art history
at the University of British Columbia where I am specializing in Middle
Period Chinese painting. I recently completed my undergraduate degree in
art history at McGill University where I wrote my honours thesis on the
effect that eunuchs had on art patronage, collection, and production in
Northern Song China. I hope to elaborate on this inquiry in my master’s
research. I am also interested how ‘othered’ bodies (eunuch, peasant,
foreign, etc.) are represented in Chinese artworks.

Happy October!
