Today at Lighthouse Point was not a typical day. Started out with light North winds, which only produced 39 hawks. The wind proceeded to the SouthEast and EastSouthEast, the force picked up some and we had an additional 88 hawks. The list is as follows:...

Turkey Vulture... 12
Osprey... 9
Northern Harrier... 4
Sharp-shinned Hawk... 48
Cooper's Hawk... 16
Northern Goshawk... 2
Red-Shouldered Hawk... 4
Broad-winged Hawk... 9
Red-Tailed Hawk... 11
American Kestrel... 5
Merlin... 1
Peregrine Falcon... 6

Toal for Hawks... 127

Also noted was one big mixed flock of Yellow-Rumped Warblers...(75), Chipping Sparrows...(25), Palm Warblers...(10), and House Finches. These birds all stayed in the area of the Cedars and Firs toward the tree line for about 30 minutes.

Also Blue Jays... 250... /  Tree Swallows... 400../  American Robin... 50../ Common Grackle... 40.. /

Thanks for the help from Don Morgan, Lynn James, Suliman, Sol Satin and Steve Specter. Nice clouds, nice time.
