Hello everyone, Please join me in welcoming a new member to the Song Yuan listserv, Li Chen. Below please find his self introduction. Welcome, Dr. Chen! Dr. Li M. Chen is a professor of computer science at the University of the District of Columbia. He received his BS, MS, and PhD in CS from Wuhan University (1982), Utah State University (1995), and the University of Bedfordshire (2001), respectively. As a science researcher, he works in applied algorithms, image processing and geometric computing as well as data science. In industry, he worked for companies as a senior software engineer. Chen also has broad interests in logic, philosophy, and history especially for Song and Qing Dynasties. He is also interested in applying mathematics and computer science in big data analytics for history and cultural studies. Chen is an ACM Distinguished Speaker.
