Can anyone suggest a source for construction details of a 40' Ocean (aka
Ocean Alexander) 1979 DC? This boat is similar in this year to many other
Taiwan Trawlers.
In particular, how is the upper fiberglass shroud (inside and outside)
attached to the cabin top? There appears to be a solid teak beam along the
edge of the cabin top which would be under the fiberglass of the area of the
cabin top. Outside this is a fiberglass 'box' section that the hand rails
are attached to. How is this attached to the beam?
I have an area of waterleak and rot in the ceiling in front of the door. I
have pulled the veneer, but am unsure where to go from here. Not wanting to
fall victim to 'project creep'.
