Engine Oil

Thank you, David, for your email.  Hope you are enjoying the holidays.  Our
regards to Mary.  DD has made good use of the South-American courtesy flags
you gave us in Panama and they caused some attention, being the mighty size of
3'x5'.
Our Perkins has 4189 hrs on the hour meter and it will burn some oil.
I have changed the engine oil here in St. Thomas back to Texaco URSA 15W40,
but have not used the engine after the oil change.  I expect to get a
reduction in oil use down to the original use of 180ml (6oz) or a little more
in 24 hrs.  I always was under the impression that engine oil brands are
alike.  The Shell Rimula was blended in Argentina.  Could the oil blended in
the USA be of higher quality?
