Doug,
There is no compression release on the Perkins 4-107. The only way to crank
it without compression is to remove, or at least loosen, the injectors. Be
sure to get a new set of annealed copper injector washers since they must be
replaced if you pull the injectors. The whole test process should take about
an hour.
