As soon as they put up a traffic light at each inlet, paint a white line down
the middle of the seaway and place toll booths every 10 nautical miles (this
is New Jersey), I'll agree with you.
Besides, collisions on the water are much deadlier. Rarely does anyone
survive a car wreck only to die by drowning.
Boating is much more akin to piloting an aircraft. With the exception that we
can stop, they can't. So make the most of what you have. Many times I have
found that just by backing off the throttle, the situation resolves itself.
It is not like I was goin' very fast to begin with. It's a trawler after all.
