Mary and Paul,
For answers to your questions on the Bahamas:
-
The channel into Alice Town has been a problem for several years.
It is not "closed", however, check with locals for the latest change if
you go in there.
-
Chub Cay Marina is still closed for major renovation not do to
damage in a hurricane in 2005. It is scheduled to reopen in March
-
You don't say when you are going there.
-
There is no conflict on how much alcohol you can take to the
Bahamas. Unlike the US or Canada, the Bahamas does not restrict how
much alcohol you bring as long as it is for your own consumption. (not
for resale)
-
The current fee to enter is still $300 for six months.
