MV Cigano, Captain and crew--the redoubtable Cowboy--flash briefly back into
visibility in Panama City, FL. Tied up next to Calypso at Rich Gano's dock, we
tested two (now) connected but separate items: whether Rich's 10 year old
wiring job indeed provided 30 A x 240 and whether Cigano's stupid Wye was
properly wired. . .affirmative to both. Ran one AC unit on the L1 and L2 leg
of Rich's shore power, being parsimonious with internal loads. . .
made use of Rich's DSL link to download the Tenn Tom charts for MaxSea under
Jeff Siegle's patient tutelage. . .thanks Jeff. I'll give a further report on
the charts later. . .navigated from the northern gulf waters to Key West and
back with MS and LOVE it. . .it is intuitive and oh, so functional. . .yes, I
did plot my posit hourly on paper charts as I crossed the gulf KW-Marco and
Cedar Key-Dog Island. . .
today, it's off to the Ft. Walton Beach seawall and tomorrow Pirate's Cove in
AL. Sunday a visit with Marge in Fairhope. . .she cooked last time and now
it's my turn. . . and the next day, we start up the Mobile River, the
proximate motivation is to be above the first lock before the next tropical
wave tries to become something. . .
tested all ship's equipment. . .what works and what doesn't, what I have I
don't need and a few things I need and don't have. . .Purasan unit and holding
tank as the situation required, work fine. . .hat tip to Peggie Hall. . .take
ANYTHING she says to the bank. . .
developing. . .
Regards,
Larry
