7/20- Allen’s Meadow. While picking tomatoes and cucumbers in 95F heat, the last sound I thought I’d hear was that of a Bobolink overhead, but I did. Single bird. They nest somewhat close by in Redding/Easton, but perhaps this guy was getting a jump on his/her 12,000 migration?

Go GATORS!
Joe,
It is early for a migrating BOBO. But I have seen reports recently of other single migrants on Long Island and even Cape May (if I’m not mistaken).

I have in the past had migrant Bobolinks before the end of July at
Lighthouse Point in New Haven. My earliest is 7/10/95, when I had 6 moving
after a 7/9 cold front. I had 50+ on 7/20/99 in 2 hours. More recently I
had 10 there on July 24, 2019. Any visit I make to the Lighthouse is
prompted by a good cold front.
