DK

Wed, Feb 10, 2021 7:50 PM

Dear NCL Board colleagues,

I completely forgot that I meant to ask you about this at this morning's meeting. Since Stephanie has asked me to participate in my role as ED of the NCL, I think that I should obtain your approval before agreeing to do so. (I would like to do so, FWIW).

If you could respond to this message fairly promptly with a "yea" or "nay," I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Deborah

Hello, Deborah, how are you?

AIR is co-leading a grant application with World Ed and others for the IES-funded Adult Skills Network Lead (see attached RFA for details). We would like to include you as a potential advisor on behalf of NCL, pending funding and IES approval.
The Network’s Stakeholder Leaders as we envision them will be a highly engaged and involved group of advisors. They will include practitioners, policymakers, researchers, advocacy representatives, developers and organizations or agencies that fund work in
the area of adult skills development.

Stakeholder Leaders will participate in Network meetings and an online community of practice to advise the Network Lead and research teams when relevant to their expertise, and will help the Network disseminate resources and findings through
their organization’s communication channels when appropriate. You choose your own level of involvement.

We will provide a modest one-time honorarium and pay travel expenses for participation. The main benefits to participation are contributing to the knowledge base on technology-based interventions for building adult basic skills and becoming
part of a collaborative network of those who support work in this area.

The Stakeholder Leaders may also be invited to serve in additional capacities on special projects, such as collaborating on tools or publications for the field. For these projects, we will pay an agreed upon amount based on level of effort.

I have attached a template letter of agreement. If you agree to participate, would it be possible to revise the letter to be specific to your organization and return to me and Ruth Sugar (cc:d) in the next week?

Thank you so much!

Thanks!

They will include practitioners, policymakers, researchers, advocacy representatives, developers and organizations or agencies that fund work in the area of adult skills development.

Stakeholder Leaders will participate in Network meetings and an online community of practice to advise the Network Lead and research teams when relevant to their expertise, and will help the Network disseminate resources and findings through their organization’s communication channels when appropriate. You choose your own level of involvement.

We will provide a modest one-time honorarium and pay travel expenses for participation. The main benefits to participation are contributing to the knowledge base on technology-based interventions for building adult basic skills and becoming part of a collaborative network of those who support work in this area.
