CALL TO ARTISTS Bates Technical College Diversity Art Project Budget: $1,500 per commissioned piece Deadline: March 29, 2010 THE PROJECT * The Bates Technical College Diversity Center is seeking artwork that will support diversity awareness and appreciation throughout the college. The artwork should reflect the diverse nature, personality, and character of our college and community and foster innovation and artistic excellence. SELECTION CRITERIA * Qualifications will be determined by the design capabilities of the artist, and the quality of the artwork when reviewing past work. * The proposal must be appropriate to this project and the core theme of diversity. Consideration will be given to all media forms. * The proposal and artwork will be reviewed for structural and surface integrity, maintenance, theft and vandalism vulnerability, and unsafe conditions. * The proposal must fit within the $1500 budget to include applicable sales tax. Bates Technical College will cover reasonable installation costs; additional costs to be negotiated. SUBMISSION PROCESS Applications must include: * Name, address, email and phone number. * Current resume and credentials. * Proposal to include preliminary concept(s) * Minimum of 3 images of existing artwork. All images must be digital and in a JPEG format, 150 dpi and no larger than 1024 x 768 pixels. * Please indicate if the artwork is commissioned or studio work. * Finalists may be asked to bring in actual work.
