Hi Bob

I agree fully with your comments. Communication on TWL does need to move
in two directions. It's obvious that the good replies are the result of
careful consideration and sometimes a bit of research, eg your
contribution earlier today on the 30/50 amp question.

"Outspoken" is good. No one should suffer fools gladly. However, the
intended target of my "Shooting from the Lip" post was primarily to ask
that we cease and desist from cutting one-liners. They add nothing to
the discourse and take a lot away from the List. I've already had about
a dozen private e-mails from lurkers indicating this is one of the
reasons they hesitate to participate. Over-sensitive? Maybe. But as one
of them described it, no one wants to be "publicly undressed" for
ignorance, and it's not easy to know when you meet whatever the TWL
standard is.

Folks, there is no standard.

And that brings me to your comment about the accuracy - or not - of
information on TWL which I'll cover in a separate post.

Cheers, Garrett

There is no shame in ignorance, but there is no excuse
for rudeness.  If a question to the list is too
elementary for your taste, ignore it, delete it.
Someone else, perhaps newer to the list, will be happy
to answer it.  We all come in various levels of
experience and knowledge, patience and time.  I think
we could benefit from a wider range of posters to this
list, not just the small number of experts on various
subjects who seem to field 90% of the questions.  A
discussion is more interesting to me than a question,
followed by -the- answer.
