Hi Ian,
Ellynne Rey reported seeing the R Spoonbill about 1:30 at the Milford Point salt marsh/ mudflats. Though not visible currently (2 pm).

The spoonbill preened and tucked in for the night at Short Beach.  Last seen at 7:15pm.

It was in a deciduous tree hanging out over the marsh, with a dozen snowy egrets.

With the evening light slanting through its feathers, it was pretty darn magnificent.  Thanks to the fellow birders who helped get me on it.
