4/8 - it's snowing as I write.......... I have seen several great blue herons flying north recently, and a trio flying south again. One can usually be seen on the Housatonic in the backwater north of Bull's Bridge. The heronry in South Kent appears to be gone, destroyed by winter storms - there is only one nest left and no-one was home my last two visits - but a huge backhoe was out in the marshes, so I don't know what's going on.
