Total observation time: 8.5 hours
Site Coordinator: Calvin Brennan
Observers: John Elliot, Paul Cypher
Weather:
Today was a generally sunny day with some clouds pushing in later in the
afternoon. Winds were light from the southeast.
Observations:
As yesterday, the flight took some time developing and it was late morning
before the first vulture groups were noted. The daily numbers of
Red-tailed and Red-shouldered Hawks continue to increase, a harbinger of
days to come. In all, 1571 birds of 10 species were recorded.
Predictions:
A strong cold front predicted for some time on Saturday may finally bring
some of the anticipated northerners like Golden Eagle and Northern
Goshawk.
